The European Union delegates discuss sanctions against Iran

Tomorrow, on Wednesday, the European Union representatives’ council will meet to discuss sanctions against Iran.
According to a correspondent for Al-Arabiya, the Council of European Commissioners will present its decision to the Council of Foreign Ministers for approval on Monday.
The European Union has repeatedly denounced Iran’s campaign of repression against protesters, calling it systematic, and has promised to impose sanctions on those responsible.

The European Union will decide whether to include the Iranian Revolutionary Guards in its new sanctions against Tehran, the German government announced.
Two days ago, a government spokesman for Germany stated that preparations are being made to impose a new set of sanctions.
A spokesman for the German government declined to provide more information about this new initiative.
These statements come a week after the statements of the German counselor, Olaf Schultz, in this regard.

The European Union is thinking about imposing more sanctions against Tehran, Schultz had said, expressing his condemnation of the severe violence used by the Iranian security forces against the protesters.
“The European Union sanctions are great, and we are currently studying more measures,” Schultz wrote on October 31 in a tweet.

Prior to this, the European Union had imposed sanctions due to both Russia’s use of Iranian aircraft in its attack on Ukraine and the violation of human rights in Iran.
The German Foreign Minister, Analina Barbook, previously announced that her country and the European Union are studying the revolutionary guards on the list of terrorist organizations..
