After the resumption of relations … running the first flight between Venezuela and Colombia

Following the restoration of diplomatic and commercial ties between the two nations after they were halted in 2019, the first flight between Venezuela and Colombia was conducted yesterday, Monday.
The Boeing plane, a private Boeing Airlines, took off at 17:30 local time (22. 30 GMT) from Caracas and landed at 18:00 local time (23,00 GMT) in Bogota.

“This flight represents the expected appeal of direct air flights between Colombia and Venezuela, the two brotherly countries working together for a prosperous future,” said the Minister of Industry and Trade Colombian Khairman, Yumania, in a tweet.
At first, “Torpeal Airlines” will arrange flights on Monday and Saturday between the two nations.

Venezuela initially attempted to resume flights through the government-owned airline “Convasa,” but was unable to do so due to US economic sanctions.
For its part, the government-owned company “Satina” from Colombia plans to operate the first trip to Caracas on Wednesday, followed by a second trip between Paranikia and Crakas on November 28.
The resumption of bilateral relations and flights came after the arrival of Gustavo Petro to the presidency in Colombia on the seventh of August.

In 2019, the Baddan and Colombia severed diplomatic ties after Ivan Duche, the president of Colombia from 2018 to 2022, accepted that Nicolas Maduro had been re-elected as the leader of the country’s government and declared Juan Gaido to be the legitimate leader of Venezuela.
