The Iraqi lady: I will not give up my right to the preacher Abdullah Rushdie

The aftermath of Jihan Sadiq Jaafar’s case, in which she accused Egyptian preacher Abdullah Rushdi of raping her, is still being felt.
Jaafar, 30, revealed to Al-Arabiya.net in exclusive interviews that she is an Iraqi-Kurdish lady who is divorced from an Egyptian man.
She revealed in her presentation that she met Sheikh Abdullah Rushdi months ago during a religious consultation via Facebook’s Messenger application, and that the relationship was shrouded by devotion.

Rushdie, she said, encouraged her to leave Bulgaria and fly to Egypt, where he proposed to her.
She also recognised the existence of proof for her claims, adding that their discussions are meticulously documented and filmed, and that there are conversations that reveal the nature of the link.
Furthermore, she alleged that he persuaded her of his claims, so she left Bulgaria on August 7 for Cairo, arriving on August 8.

She went on to say that their meetings took place in two apartments, one in Obour and the other in one of the new cities east of Cairo, and that they sat down to sign an official marriage contract.

Then I was surprised to hear Abdullah call two people and ask them to testify about the marriage over the phone, confirming that she did not believe what she had heard and begged him not to touch her until the marriage was documented, but he did not wait and her offer, as she called it, was breached.

She stated that the Egyptian preacher took advantage of her naivety and trust in him and assaulted her under the guise of oral marriage, and that he abandoned her and denied knowing her, and that she will not give up her right and dignity, as well as the right of her family, which supports her in her ordeal.

She also stated that, as a woman, she cannot falsely claim what happened in order to harm her reputation and that of her family, and that she does not want the preacher’s money, despite his extortion claims. She stated that Rushdie’s followers had bullied, defamed, and abused her in order to terrify her and prevent her from pursuing the preacher legally, and that she had been put in order to change the cleric’s image.

Furthermore, Jaafar stated that she called Abdullah Rushdis wife to notify her of what had occurred, only to hear from the wife that she had a very negative impression of him.
According to reports, Heba Hussein, the Iraqi woman’s lawyer, stated that her client had communications and witnesses that might be utilised to prove her indecent assault.

She further indicated that she will present her evidence, as well as the testimony of witnesses, to the investigative authorities until Rushdie is prosecuted. She went on to explain that the Iraqi woman’s documentation is sound and legal, and therefore her right to sue the plaintiff would be shown, emphasising that the victim was subjected to terrorism to intimidate her and deter her from taking legal action.

It is worth noting that an Egyptian lawyer filed a case with the Public Prosecutor against preacher Abdullah Rushdi for sexual exploitation and indecent assault against an Iraqi girl.
Despite the preacher’s response and initial denial, Egyptian lawyer Hani Sameh filed a lawsuit with the Public Prosecutor accusing him of operating without a licence and collecting millions in order to commit the crime of money laundering.

Sameh sought an investigation into the preacher’s wealth, particularly in light of the Iraqi woman’s statements and claims against him, and a social media campaign was initiated against the Egyptian preacher.
