The statements of a Qatari ambassador to the 2022 World Cup, in which he described homosexuality as “a disorder in the mind,” were criticised by German Interior Minister Nancy Weisser, who is also in charge of sports affairs.
Weisser said at a press conference on Tuesday, “This is terrible such statements… and this is also the reason why we are working to improve things in Qatar in the future.”
The minister indicated that she is still trusting the security guarantees of all fans, including members of the M -community, which she obtained from the Prime Minister and Qatari Interior Minister Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa Al Thani during her recent visit to Doha.
In a homosexual television interview, Khaled Salman, a player for Qatar and a former dam, described homosexuality as a “mental illness.”
Salman expressed his view of homosexuality as forbidden, that is, disobedience.
