Macron: We will not overlook our climatic obligations due to the Russian war on Ukraine

Emmanuel Macron, the president of France, stated that combating climate change is one of Europe’s top concerns, emphasising that continuing to reduce and adapt is the only crucial commitment.

Macron added – in his speech during the activities of the Climate Summit, COB 27 in Sharm El -Sheikh – that we will not sacrifice our climatic obligations or excess of our aspirations towards the climate due to the Russian war on Ukraine and the accompanying energy crisis, and that the Russian war against Ukraine did not represent a return to the war on European soil But it has allegedly put the world in a time of uncertainty, food tensions, and challenges for a number of African nations and the Mediterranean area.

He mentioned that the richer and European countries, including France, must continue to uphold the general obligations that have been adopted by nations. This is a line of work that is the European plan to reduce their emissions by 55% by 2030, which is a strategy that relies on energy vigilance, a focus on renewable energies, and a shift away from fossil fuels in favour of a sustainable future.

He continued that we must continue in the battle to mitigate and remove our economy from coal and this is at the heart of the European strategy for all rich countries, and we must help developing countries to do so as soon as possible, and we must continue to reduce the effects of climate change through cooperation and teamwork And we’ll keep working on alternative energy initiatives.

He noted that India has begun and launched a very ambitious energy strategy, noting that renewable energy is less expensive, safer, and contains less carbon, indicating at the same time that nature is our primary ally, biological diversity and climate are two sides of the same coin, indicating that the nations we view as having the most poverty are actually solutions to combat climate imbalances.

Macron: Despite Russia’s attack on Ukraine, we won’t ignore our responsibilities for the environment.
