News from Al-Madinah: Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman announced, on Monday, the Kingdom’s hosting of the headquarters of the “Green Middle East initiative”, and that he presided over the second edition of the summit in the Egyptian city of Sharm El-Sheikh.

The Saudi crown prince announced Saudi Arabia’s contribution of $ 2. 5 billion in support of the Green Middle East initiative over the next 10 years, saying: “I am pleased to be among you today and convey to you the greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and his best wishes for the success of this summit.”

He went on to say that the Kingdom hopes to use the summit to strengthen cooperation and coordination in order to finance these initiatives and find innovative ways to deal with shared problems. He emphasised that for the initiative to be successful, regional cooperation must continue and member states must make significant contributions.

The activities of the summit were launched by a joint presidency between the Saudi Crown Prince and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El -Sisi, and it comes in conjunction with the World Leaders Summit at the United Nations Conference on Climate Change (COP 27), which is participating in its presidential part 110 of the leaders and leaders of the world and heads of government, and a number of international figures and experts .
