In a rematch of the previous edition’s final, Real Madrid, the defending champion and Liverpool’s archrival in the Champions League in recent years, faced off against Liverpool in an early final in the tournament’s sixteenth round.
Following their draw for the 16th round of the Champions League, which was withdrawn today, Monday, face to face in an early final for the event, Liverpool will play its longtime nemesis Real Madrid for the fourth time in the previous six years.
A new chance to exact revenge on the royal team will be provided by the Liverpool club, which is led by Egyptian star Mohamed Salah.
Since the “Pharaoh” joined its ranks in the summer of 2017, the Reds have suffered three straight losses as opposed to one tie in their last four matches.

After clashing with Sergio Ramos, a current Paris Saint-Germain defender who was then playing for Real Madrid, during the 2018 final, Salah had a severe shoulder injury that significantly lowered his performance during the World Cup Football Championships “Russia” 2018.
It is noteworthy that Mohamed Salah, 30, tops the top scorer list of the Champions League, after the conclusion of the group stage matches with 7 goals equally with French star Killian Mbappe, Paris Saint -Germain striker.
