CAIRO – 7 November 2022: For a duration of two days, the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization in Fustat is organizing an artistic and cultural event under the title “Fayoum Heritage”.
This event is a part of the governorates’ heritage programmes, which the museum and the General Egyptian Authority for Tourism Promotion in the Fayoum Governorate are coordinating.
According to Nancy Ammar, a senior heritage and cultural communication specialist, the event featured a number of hands-on art workshops that focused on the handicrafts that the Fayoum Governorate is well known for.
Additionally, there is a creative workshop that specialises in creating handcrafted carpets. Another session demonstrated how to use palm materials to create organic handicrafts like wicker items.
Manar Hassan, a senior specialist in heritage and cultural communication, also mentioned that there was a photo show. The show featured the creations of a number of artists who captured the most notable cultural moments in the Fayoum governorate.
The Arab Fayoum Troupe gave a performance as the event’s finale.
