In his first appearance on the international scene, the British Prime Minister participates in the COP27 climate summit

In the latest round of United Nations meetings in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, the new British Prime Minister, Rishi Sonak, stated today, Monday, that the world must “fulfil the legacy” of the climate summit “Cup 26” held in Glasgow last year.
Sonak posted on Twitter: “Today I shall join leaders from all around the world in cup 27,” according to the British BA Media Agency.

He said: “We must reject Glasgow’s legacy and safeguard the future of the earth for the benefit of our children and grandkids.
During the climate summit, Sonak also had a meeting with Ursula von der Line, president of the European Commission.
The small group discussion happens as tensions with the European Union over Northern Ireland’s application are rising.
They might have also discussed the energy issue, the war in Ukraine, and the changing environment.

Since moving into the British government’s offices at 10 Downing Street two weeks ago, this is the new British Prime Minister’s first public appearance.
