A high-level discussion between US and Russian officials regarding the Ukraine war was made public by an American newspaper.
According to The Wall Street Journal, US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan conducted secret meetings with top Russian officials in an effort to lessen the likelihood that the conflict in Ukraine would turn into a nuclear crisis.
The newspaper quoted US officials as saying that President Joe Biden for National Security Affairs, Jake Sullivan, had secret talks in recent months with his counterpart, Nikolai Patroshev, Secretary of the Russian Security Council, as well as Yuri Oshkov, the unveiled assistant to the Russian President.
The White House and the Kremlin made no comments regarding what was written in the article.
