Iranians took to the streets in Tehran and Isfahan to show their support for the Kurdish and Sistan-Baluchistani populations, who are currently the targets of violent attacks by the Iranian security forces.
“This year is the year of blood, and Khamenei will fall,” said the demonstrators in the “Hafta Basin” district.
In the “Tehranbars” area, east of the capital, Tehran, the protesters raised the slogan “Death to the dictator” and “Death to Khamenei”.
Additionally, protests against the Iranian government were organised by locals in the Sadiqa neighbourhood west of Tehran, during which they chanted “Death to the tyrant.”
Videos from Isfahan in central Iran showed tear gas canisters being fired at protesters in the “Jahr Bagh” region.
The reports claimed hearing gunfire in the area and the ongoing conflicts between Iranian security personnel and locals in Mariwan, a city in the country’s west.
Death for the tyrant Khamenei is another cry heard from the protesters.
These demonstrations follow Nisreen Qadri’s burial without mourners in her hometown city of Mariwan at the hands of the security services. Due to repeated baton blows from the security personnel in Tehran, Qadri fell into a coma two days ago and passed away last night.
The images from Iran show that Mariwan’s store owners have gone on a nationwide strike and that all of the city’s stores are closed.
According to reports, the security forces of Iran opened fire on Mariwan residents’ windows on Sunday night.
The phrase “Mujtaba dies and will not be triumphant with driving” was shouted by the crowd in Mariwan.
In the meantime, the inhabitants of the city took to the streets and set it on fire, and in Saqz, the place of the child Muhsa Amini’s birth, the security forces positioned themselves at the city’s entry and searched the residents’ automobiles.
