Former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan leaves the hospital

According to one of his close associates, former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan left the hospital on Sunday, three days after being shot in the legs during a botched assassination attempt.
Khan claimed that Shahbaz Sharif was behind the attack in order to incite political turmoil in the nation, which has seen upheaval since the collapse of the government in April.

Fouad Chaudhry, the former minister of information, informed AFP that he had left the hospital, although local television broadcast pictures of him leaving a clinic in Lahore on a motorised chair while dressed in hospital garb.
On Thursday, Imran Khan (70 years old) was speaking to his followers from a truck container in the town of Abad, about 170 kilometres east of the city, when someone started shooting at him.

Following the attack, government officials claimed that the attacker had relocated alone and that he was a “religiously radical.”
According to the suspect in a video tape that the police released to the public, he attempted to kill Khan because of the music that his convoy played during the call to prayer.
Imran Khan insisted on the involvement of two people, nevertheless, in a chat with journalists on Friday.

He emphasised that Rana Made God, a senior intelligence official, and Interior Minister Shahbaz Sharif were responsible for the murder attempt.
The government and the army called the allegations “lies” and threatened to bring libel charges against him.

After his party won the Pakistani Equity Movement in the legislative elections, based on a plan that combines social reforms, fighting corruption, and religious freedom, the former cricket star Imran Khan was elected prime minister in 2018.
Since then, Khan has called for early elections by conducting a number of rallies and emphasising that he is overthrowing the government through a plot that the US orphaned.

Analysts contend that Khan’s accusations and attempted assassination have placed Pakistan in a “dangerous stage.”
Political analyst Ahmed Khan, who is also a representative of the Pakistani Human Rights Committee office, said: “This is a perilous position, not only for the democratic process but also for the country, especially with reference to economic development.”
