After Spanish football player Gerard Pique declared his official retirement today, Sunday, Englishman Rio Ferdinand sent a lengthy message to Barcelona asking him to play football.
Pique, 35, began his football career in Barcelona. He afterwards moved on to play for Manchester United, Real Zaragoza, and Barcelona once more in 2008.
Pique persisted in defending the Barcelona logo for a further 14 years, from 2008 to 2022.
Pique received an emotional message from Ferdinand on his official Facebook account. The two had previously played together for Manchester United from 2004 to 2008.
Fernando penned: “Gerard, what a march! Many people are unaware of the crucial role I actually played in your sector, and since Fedic and I were both playing for Manchester United, you were never given the chance. You had to relocate to Barcelona, then “.
“I don’t think you can picture a crazy sporting career as I got it when I went to Barcelona,” he continued. “Several tournaments with the club and the team.”
Rio Ferdinand stressed that Pique was only missing one thing in his period with Manchester United, which is maturity, explaining that he quickly achieved this in his career with Barcelona, relying on reason and intelligence.
I respect what I presented for the football profession, man, he said, implying that Pique, Barcelona, would see the president of Barcelona in 7 years, or in 2029.
