Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola said that Calvin Philips may participate with the team before the start of the England team in the World Cup Qatar.
Next Wednesday’s Professional League Cup matchup against Chelsea will have Philips on the bench, according to Guardiola.
After recuperating from a shoulder injury, Guardiola chose not to include the former United player against Chelsea. Instead, Guardiola informed England coach Gareth Southgate before the World Cup that the player had recovered.
Philips took part in the practise last Friday, according to Guardiola, and “he was in good form.”
“(Philips) will be on the bench in front of Chelsea; I’m not sure if he’ll play or not, but he will be on the bench.
Calvin’s situation is significantly better.
Kelly Walker, another player in Manchester City, underwent thigh surgery four weeks ago, but is now close to returning to the England team before the World Cup..
Before the World Cup, Calvin Philips returns to Manchester City.
