King of Tonga visits Egyptian Museum in Tahrir

King Tupou VI of Tonga and his wife visited the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir after touring the Great Pyramids of Giza on November 6, 2022.
The delegation that was accompanying King Tupou VI were given a tour of the museum’s different halls. The ancient artefacts in the museum, particularly those from King Ramses II, piqued King Tupou VI’s curiosity.

The visit coincides with King Tupou VII’s stay in Egypt for the 27th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change [COP27], which is now taking place in Sharm El-Sheikh.
