The magnificent funerary mask of Tutankhamun was and is still a symbol of ancient Egypt. CAIRO – 6 November 2022.
This instantly identifiable mask is constructed of gold and features semi-precious stone inlays as well as turquoise, carnelian, and lapis lazuli inlays.
On the front, Osiris, the god of the afterlife, is shown as resembling Tutankhamun; on the reverse, a protective spell is inscribed.
It is unquestionably one of Egypt’s most adored and prized artefacts and one of the most well-known works of art in the entire world.
