A catastrophic flood may lead to a dangerous bombing of a dam in Jiuuson

The renowned Novakkovka Dam in Jiusson, southern Ukraine, which is under the control of Russian forces, served as a major talking point for the exchange of accusations between Moscow and Kiev. Today, Sunday, the local Russian authorities claimed that the enormous dam had been the target of Ukrainian bombing.
Emergency services in the region confirmed that the dam was damaged by the bombing of the Ukrainian forces, according to TASS.

She also made it obvious that the dam had been attacked by a missile fired by the American-built Himarms missile system.
In the past, Kyiv had warned of a flood disaster that might be avoided if the Russians implement this scenario, accusing Moscow of preparing for the dam’s booby-trapping and the massive electrical power generation units to cover up its losses and withdrawals from MKson and other regions in the south.

The dam burst would sink “more than eighty town, including Jacon, in the centre of the floodwaters,” it was also warned at the time.
However, Moscow confirmed more than once that these accusations are false, and paves the way to cover a “movement or a Ukrainian plan” aimed at holding Russian forces responsible for any disaster.

This airstrike occurred today in conjunction with the ongoing evacuation of Jiusson, the first significant Ukrainian city to be captured by Russian forces since hostilities began on February 24. It also occurred amid rumours that the Russian army was relocating.

This city is also one of the four territories that the Kremlin stated it would annexe in late September 2022, thus the loss of its authority by Ukraine will be a terrible blow to Moscow and the stature of its armed forces.

Jiusson’s physical location is also crucial because it lies on the borders of the Dniprobroprovsk and Nicolaiv areas, borders Crimea on land in the south, overlooks the Black Sea in the southwest, and faces the Azov Sea in the southeast.

It is noteworthy that the Russian-Ukrainian conflict ended after its eighth month, despite continued mutual attacks between the two sides, and that the Ukrainian forces are currently making only moderate progress in their counterattack, which they launched last month in the south and east, after making notable progress in the past at the expense of the Russian forces.

A disastrous flood could trigger the risky bombing of a dam in Jiuuson.
