The British government revealed on Sunday that the United Kingdom will witness an official holiday on the occasion of the coronation of King Chals III in May, eight months after the death of Queen Elizabeth II.
The day of the holiday will be on May 8th, following two days of the event that will be held in the Westminster Monastery, the British Prime Minister declared in a statement.

The statement quoted Prime Minister Rishi Sonak as saying that “the crowning of a new king is a unique moment for our country,” expressing his hope that the people will honor, “Charles III by participating in the actors at the local and national levels throughout the country.
Previously, Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation on June 2, 1953, and the day of her interment on September 19, both fell on official holidays in Britain.

Charles III’s coronation, which will descend at the king’s request, will reportedly be less elaborate and expensive than that of his mother. The coronation of Queen Elizabeth took place in front of 8251 people who had assembled at the monastery and took more than three hours.
Two days after the passing of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, at the age of 96, the Council of the Crown formally recognised Charles III as a British subject.

The council declared that “Prince Charles Philip Arthur Georgho is now, with the death of its majesty… Our King Charles III… so that the Lord will save the king” at a historical meeting that was broadcast live from the St. James Palace in London.
This is the first time that the ceremony has been held since 1952, when the late Yazabeth II Queen assumed the throne, where a council of leading politicians and officials in the palace assembled for its inauguration.
