American newspaper: Washington has called on Kyiv authorities to open up to negotiations with Russia

According to the Washington Post, the administration of US President Joe Biden requested through special channels that Kyiv authorities be open to engagement with Russia.

According to a source familiar with the situation cited in the newspaper, the American side is not focused on pressuring Ukraine to enter negotiations; instead, it wants to make sure that Kyiv continues to receive support from other nations who share its concern that voters will grow increasingly fearful as long as the conflict continues.

The Biden administration is publicly pushing Ukrainian leaders to be forthcoming about talks with Russia and to reevaluate their stated opposition to taking part in negotiations as long as President Vladimir Putin is in office, the newspaper continued.

The fact that President of Ukraine Vladimir Zellinski signed a proclamation implementing the Ukrainian National Security and National Defense Resolution about the impossibility of negotiations with Vladimir Putin is notable.
Late in October, President Putin emphasised that although Russia had previously stated that it was prepared to negotiate with Ukraine, the Kyiv government had chosen not to do so.
