The same number of almonds were used in the snacks for the second group, but they were provided in ground form. The last group chose to consume cakes as a substitute for their snacks rather than almonds.

After four weeks, it was shown that the participants who chose almonds as a snack rather than unhealthy options had higher amounts of butter than those who consumed cakes.
They also found that consuming almonds could raise levels of fibre, vitamin E, potassium, and other nutrients as well as good fats.
Through the creation of short chain fats like butter, intestinal bacteria has a favourable impact on human health.
