The hole was discovered by monitoring the movement of its accompanying star, which revolves around the black hole at the same distance in which the Earth revolves around the sun.
The black hole was first spotted by the European Space Agency’s “Jaya” probe, according to Karim Al-Badri of the Harvard Smithsonian Center for Astronomical Physics in Massachusetts.
Al-Badri and his group collaborated with the Hawaiian International Gemini Observatory to corroborate their results, which were then printed in the Royal Astronomical Society’s monthly notifications.
