Bahrain monarch: Relations with the Vatican are a distinguished model in cooperation for the service of humanity

King Hamad bin Issa Al Khalifa of Bahrain emphasised that the Kingdom and the Vatican State’s relations are a notable example of cooperation to serve humanity by promoting peaceful coexistence between religions and cultures, rejecting extremism, and consolidating the values of dialogue as the only means of achieving the aspirations of the peoples of the world.

This occurred during King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain’s visit to Pope Francis today at the residence of his holiness, in the presence of Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Bahraini monarch’s personal representative, and Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Bahraini monarch’s representative for humanitarian work and youth affairs. The good relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Vatican State and means to develop them in all domains, which are constantly experiencing expansion and growth at various levels, were examined by the National Security Adviser.

The King of Bahrain praised the good results of the visit of His Holiness, Pope Francis, the historic Pope of the Kingdom, noting the sublime human contents that were included in his holiness during the visit, which emphasized the principles of peace, religious freedoms and rapprochement between peoples, as he praised the great success that the Mass held this morning Tens of thousands of people from Bahrain and the Arab Gulf states gathered.

Pope Francis expressed his gratitude to the benevolent royal family, his consent and approval of the peaceful coexistence and tolerance he observed between different religions, and that this confirms that the Kingdom of Bahrain has put all necessary infrastructure in place to practise religious freedom for all religions.

The Vatican’s Pope recognised the crucial contribution made by King Hamad bin Issa Al Khalifa and the Kingdom of Bahrain in fostering a climate of understanding, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence amongst religions and civilizations, and he wished Bahrain continued success and prosperity.
