Taiwan is conducting training in the South China Sea

In the South China Sea, near the island of Taiwan that is under Taiwanese administration, the Taiwanese Coast Guard conducted naval drills.
The Taiwanese Coast Guard – in a statement reported by the local newspaper “Fox Taiwan”, said today, Saturday – that it conducted the marine rescue exercises in the past days as part of the government’s commitment to turning the island into a base for humanitarian aid and supplies in the South China Sea.

The statement added that a team consisting of several ships, including the 4000 -tons of Coast Guard ship, which is named “Chia”, participated in the rescue exercises, and drones were used to throw survival boats on those who are asking for water.
He emphasised that as part of his commitment to turning Typening into a hub for humanitarian relief and supplies in the area, he will continue to organise and carry out humanitarian training in the South China Sea in the future.

The island of Typening, the largest natural spratti island in the South China Sea, is 1600 km southwest of Kaoshung and is run as part of the Seven region of the South Taiwan municipality. It is one of two areas in the South China Sea that Taiwan controls; the other is Dungsha, sometimes known as Pratas Island. It is situated 450 kilometres southwest of Kaoshung.
