Offering the pre -qualification tender for the first stage of the “Bahrain Metro” project

The first stage of the Bahrain Metro Project’s pre-rehabilitation tender for developers has been announced by the Bahraini Ministry of Communications and Communications.

Hussein Yaqoub, acting assistant undersecretary for land transport at the ministry of communications and communications, was quoted by the Bahrain News Agency (BNA) as saying this morning, Saturday: “The Bahrain Metro project is one of the most significant strategic projects of the Kingdom of Bahrain aimed at providing a sophisticated and sustainable collective transport network in partnership with private sector.”

He emphasised that the ministry evaluated the 11 bids submitted by coalitions of firms that are both local and international experts in the field of building and trains.

The ministry is working to prepare the main tender documents to be presented during the first quarter of 2023 after announcing the list of alliances that qualify for implementation, he added, adding that these alliances are still working to provide some documents and additional requirements that complement the tender submitted until the end of this year.

He stated that the ministry worked to build the metro track for the initial phase, where the entire route was reserved, studied conflicting services, finished the detailed designs for converting 20% of incompatible services to the metro project, and has also completed allocating the budgets necessary for all areas affected by private lands and the issuance of a decision Obtaining it. Work is currently being done to finish these procedures after they have been completed.
