Australian man ‘Ninja’ dies fighting for Ukraine

According to Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, an Australian man named Trevor Kjeldal, who was fighting in Ukraine under the call sign “Ninja,” passed away while taking part in the combat (DFAT).
In a statement, Kjeldal’s family said, “Our depth of anguish at his passing is indescribable.” Trevor was a beloved and cherished family member.

We want to express our gratitude to DFAT for all of their help in getting him back to us.

We ask that the media maintain our privacy at this extraordinarily sad time while we grieve.
Members of his family are receiving consular support, according to a DFAT official.
According to Nine News, Kjeldal, who went by the call sign “Ninja,” was hurt in July and hospitalised in Ukraine but had no immediate intentions to return to Australia.
In October, he told Nine that his group intended to aid the Ukrainian people.

“We came and assisted,” he said. “Ukraine was in turmoil and they needed people to help.”
“Let’s just see if I can do it again, I suppose. I overcame the odds once.”
On Saturday, Kjeldal’s family and friends received a message of condolence from Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.
“The news is devastating. I remind people that travelling to Ukraine is not advised by DFAT “At a press conference in Queensland, he remarked.

Although it is a perilous location, my thoughts are with the man’s family and friends.
