Sultan Al -Amimi: The book “The Houses of the City of Sharjah” is a reference document for novelists and researchers

In a cultural symposium on the book of Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, “The Houses of Sharjah and its Neighboring Villages and Their Inhabitants,” managed by the writer Aisha Sultan, the 41st Sharjah International Book Fair hosted the author and novelist Sultan Al-Amimi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Writers and Writers, and Director of the Poetry Academy.

The houses of the city of Sharjah is the first book of its kind to be published in the United Arab Emirates, and it is a groundbreaking book on his idea that documents the memory of the place. It was followed by a group of the most eminent writers in the world, some of whom won the Nobel Prize for Literature, according to Sultan Al-Amimi in his explanation of the general perception represented by the ruler of Sharjah’s book.

“Sultan Al-Amimi emphasised that the ruler of Sharjah recognises, through his astute research perspective, that every neighbourhood or area in Sharjah bears its own importance. As a result, he worked to revive the old map of Sharjah with its neighbourhoods and its existence, which represents a historical, social, and cultural geographic document on the Emirate of Sharjah in the 1960s.

Al -Amimi pointed out that the book benefits the researcher in documenting the history of Sharjah characters from the flags who influenced the cultural and literary scene, and formed a nucleus of science in the emirate, as it represents a guide for families to know their extended origin a means of enhancing memory for future generations by connecting them to their roots and origins.

The book of the ruler of Sharjah holds an essential and reference value for academics and studies related to social and economic life in the emirate, which established a leading scientific or economic revival in the emirate, according to the chairman of the Emirates Writers Union.

Regarding the importance of the book for the author and novelist, Sultan Al-Amimi emphasised that the writer is inextricably linked to the researcher because he needs to be an excellent researcher because he builds the setting in his narration in a manner similar to that of a film director, and this setting in a realistic narration cannot be convincing to the reader unless it is incorporated into his description of the place.

“A novelist I find in the ruler of Sharjah’s book a descriptive reference that provides me with a service in setting the rules of fictional work that I work on for a street or area in that era documented by the book, or if my novel is based on historical figures in the Emirate of Sharjah, the novelist picks up the tiniest details,” he said. And it is because of this that the book serves as a source for this novel in terms of specifics, and it is from this point that I think hundreds of fictional works could emerge from The Book of the Ruler of Sharjah.

The book “The Houses of the City of Sharjah” is a resource for authors and academics, according to Sultan Al-Amimi.
