After his assassination attempt … former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan is recovering in the hospital

After being shot in the foot, former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan is healing on Friday, but his followers have vowed to keep up the “long march” he launched into Islamabad in an effort to compel the government into holding elections.

Thursday’s attack on his convoy, which appeared to be one armed man, was killed and at least ten wounded, which increased tension in a country that is drowned in a deep political crisis since Khan’s exclusion from power in April.
According to his doctor, Faisal Sultan, the former cricket star is “in a stable state and in a favourable posture” in a hospital in Lahore (east).

Imran Khan, a 70-year-old politician, started a “long march” on Friday between Lahore and Islamabad, the nation’s capital, to persuade officials to call early elections, which would be the first step toward his goal of regaining the position of power.

Imran Khan was injured with at least a bullet in his right foot, when an armed with an automatic pistol was shot at a truck container from which Khan was casting his speeches in front of the crowds since the start of the march.
The assassination attempt happened in the Minister of Abad, which is located around 170 kilometres east of the city, when the truck was slowly walking in front of a sizable crowd.

Fouad Chaudhry, former Minister of Information in the Imran Khan government, said that all those in the front row were injured.
One of the close consultants, Raouf Hassan, claimed that “it was an effort to kill, an assassination attempt.”
