An investigation was opened after the participation of officers in the “elegance and beauty” festival in Iraq

On Thursday, the first member of the pillar’s special forces, Abdul Amir Rashid Yar Allah, was given the go-ahead by the Iraqi Army Chief of Staff, the team, to establish an inquiry council in front of images of the officers who took part in the “elegance and beauty” art festival.

A video that went viral on social media showed two officers dressed in uniform sitting in the front row at the “Ishtar Elegance and Beauty” event, which caused a great deal of uproar and harsh condemnation, especially online. The early adopters of communication technologies questioned why the military was present at an event that had nothing to do with security or the armed services.

The Iraqi Chief of Staff was responsible for overseeing the investigation as a result, and the Ministry of Defense claimed in a statement that was distributed by the official Iraqi News Agency that “some pages of social media have reported pictures and videos of officers from the Ministry of Defense during their participation in a technical festival held in Baghdad.

The ministry stressed that “the required legal measures will be taken after the inquiry is finished” and added that “the chief of staff of the army directed the formation of an investigative council by the authorised authorities in the ministry, to know the merits of the case.”

After officers took part in the “elegance and beauty” event in Iraq, an inquiry was launched.
