Wellington Phoenix capture teenage rising star Milly Clegg

At 17 According to Wellington Phoenix coach Natalie Lawrence, Milly Clegg not only has a bright future but also guarantees to achieve her ambitions.
The addition of Clegg to the team for the next A-League season has the new women’s team coach giddy with joy.
Lawrence remarked, “Milly’s someone we’ve been keeping a close watch on.
“She is someone who possesses the qualities we lack. She’s a proper goal scorer.

These abilities were demonstrated at this year’s FIFA Under-17 and Under-20 World Cups.
Clegg started all three games despite being the youngest player on the Under-20 New Zealand team in Costa Rica, and he scored in a 2-2 tie with Colombia in August.
She then travelled to India for the Under-17 World Cup, where Clegg scored the sole goal for New Zealand in defeats to Germany and Chile.

Clegg’s finishing is a nice improvement for the Phoenix team, who had the second-lowest goal total in the league previous season with 13.
She still needs to grow a lot, especially in terms of her game awareness, but Lawrence assured her that she would be in a wonderful atmosphere here and that she would continue to be challenged.
“Anyone, including Milly, could make that match-day roster of 16.”
For me, Clegg remarked, “This was a once in a lifetime opportunity.”

Although it’s been somewhat hectic, I’m thrilled to have attended two World Cups; it was an incredible experience.
Clegg will initially be under the Phoenix’s amateur contract.
She won’t receive compensation, but it gives her the potential to play college football in the US if the chance presents itself.
Clegg stated, “I simply want to train as hard as I can and possibly prove myself a little.”
“Having a professional agreement at a young age is very great, and I was quite appreciative of it.

It was definitely a no-brainer for me.
On November 20 in Wellington, The Phoenix take on Melbourne City to open their new A-League Women’s campaign.

Milly Clegg, a teenage rising talent, was captured by Wellington Phoenix.
