Brazil: The team -elected president, Da Silva, begins power

The Luis Inacio Lula da Silva administration of Brazil arrived in the nation’s capital to transfer control amidst protests from Jayer Bolsonaro’s supporters.
Vice -elect vice -elected Vice President Geraldo Alkain, arrived in Congress with the Coordinator of the Da Silva campaign, and many legislators from the left -wing Labor Party, and held a meeting with the official in charge of the government budget for the year 2023, Senator Marcelo Castro.

Following the discussion, Alkamin encouraged lawmakers to adopt an emergency procedure to approve increased spending, including monthly social welfare payments of 600 riyals ($118) that the new administration views as essential.
If not for that emergency procedure, it was planned that these payments would fall to 400 riyals (78 dollars) in January. Lawmakers told reporters that a decision on this change will be made on Monday.

Alkainin continued, saying he will go back to Brazilia on Tuesday to continue talking about the budget.
Da Silva’s Labor Party is attempting to negotiate with Parliament Speaker Arthur Lira, who served as Polsonaro’s close friend and is anticipated to run for re-election in 2019.
