Anger sweeping the French parliament after a racist accident against a black deputy

After an intervention from a deputy in the right-wing National Rally, the French parliament’s session in Paris was suspended this afternoon over a racial accident and was postponed till Friday.
Gregwar de Furnas should face severe punishment, according to legislators from other parties.

When the Black MP Carlos Martins Bellongo was speaking to the platform about a ship carrying refugees delayed in the Mediterranean, de Furnas yelled, “Let him back to Africa,” which set off the altercation.
There was a state of playfulness and dumps in Parliament, and many deputies chanted, “Get out . . . go out,” Martins Bellong described it as a shame after the end of the session.

After the controversy, the extreme right-wing deputy claimed there had been a miscommunication and that he had meant to refer to the refugees on the boat rather than his parliamentary colleague, but he has not yet offered an apology.
Other political figures harshly denounced the incident.
In our democracy, racism has no place, according to Prime Minister Elizabeth Born.
Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin posted a tweet on his Twitter account that read, “What a disgrace.”

After a discriminatory incident against a black deputy, anger has spread throughout the French parliament.
