Possible fentanyl found in Rocky Mountain House Halloween candy: RCMP

A child’s Halloween treat was discovered to contain an unknown drug that the RCMP in central Alberta believe to be fentanyl.
After sifting through their child’s Halloween treats on Wednesday, a worried parent contacted Rocky Mountain House RCMP. In the process, they discovered an unsealed container with three bits of an unknown, dark substance within.
According to a news release from the police on Thursday, “This chemical is very visible with no aim to hide it in the candy.”

The drug tested presumptively positive for the presence of fentanyl in early tests, according to the RCMP. According to police, the item is currently being transferred to the RCMP laboratory for additional testing.
According to authorities, “This presumptive test for the presence of fentanyl is alarming.”
Police are advising parents to be especially vigilant in checking their kids’ Halloween treats.
Candy that isn’t sealed up should be thrown away right away.
