According to Pakistani media, the bomber who targeted Imran Khan admitted that he wanted to kill him and claimed that he had acted on his own.
When his convoy was shot, Khan was leading a protest march toward Islamabad to demand early elections.
Former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan purposefully waved at his supporters after obtaining first aid to comfort them following a botched murder attempt.

An attempt on the life of a high political official has not happened here for the first time. While in office, two former prime ministers were murdered. The beginning was with the first Prime Minister of Pakistan to fit Ali Khan in 1951, then Benzer Bhutto in 2007.
