Watch the Minister of Supply mention how much a loaf of bread consumes Egypt every year

In a news conference yesterday in the Council of Ministers, the Egyptian Minister of Supply, Ali Al-Moselhi, revealed that Egypt uses 8 million and 500 thousand tonnes of wheat annually, including 4 million localities and 4 and a half million importers.

In terms of total bread consumption in Egypt, it exceeds 254 million loaves per day, or 762 million and 500 thousand kilogrammes per month, up to a total of 93 billion loaves annually. Each loaf costs 85 piastres, but each citizen only needs 5 piastres to purchase it; the rest is provided by the government.
And the minister failed to disclose what Abdullah Ghorab, the head of Egypt’s General Division of Bakeries, and Al-Arabiya saw.

In addition to the 5,000 bakeries that manufacture the tourism and enforcement loaves, there are over 32,000 municipal bakeries associated with Egypt for supply bakeries that are committed to price and weight. The quality of these bakeries varies from region to region.

However, the Minister of Supply mentioned in his most important press conference, which is about the existence of a decision that was taken to fix the prices and goods provided by the state. In addition to the significance of all factories and retailers, it contributed to the high price and the insufficient supply of goods, as he put it.
