After a gunbattle on the southern island of Solo, the Philippine government forces reportedly helped a wounded Abu Sayyaf leader, according to a military officer.
The commander of the army’s eleventh infantry announced in a statement that the medium-level group’s leader, Christopher Osam Christopher USAm, had been detained following a gunfight on Sunday in the village of Bid Bidi in the municipality of Barang.
According to Patmarimono, the Army 41 infantry battalion and the Parangay peacekeeping force were engaged in a 40-minute gunfight with a group of Osam while on a normal security patrol.

The soldiers gave Osam first aid right away and then transported him to the Potista Camp Station Hospital for more care.
According to Patmarimono, Osam was then sent for surgery to the Al-Maine Hospital in Golo, the county seat of Solo.
