The Al-Maqam women novel by Kuwaiti author Mona Al-Shammari gained a new accomplishment when it won the best Arabic novel at the Sharjah International Book Fair honours during its 2022 session.
The novel “The maids of the Maqam” joined the series of poker novels, after it reached the International Booker Award for Arabic Novel, in its 2022 session, which revolves around tricks, lies and sorcery in the name of the shrines.

Through the characters created by author Mona Al-Shammari, we learn how the events of the night that a woman’s body with a blown abdomen was discovered on the shore of Failaka Island played out in the novel “The Maids of the Maqam.”
