A United Nations refused to invite Russia to investigate a biological weapons program in Ukraine

On Wednesday night, the UN Security Council rejected a draught resolution that Russia had created that demanded an investigation into its claims that Washington was complicit in the creation of biological weapons in Ukraine.
Russia formally asked the UN to look into these allegations last week. Moscow has been making them frequently ever since it conquered Ukraine.

The draught was supported by Russia and China once it was put to a vote, while France, the United States, and Britain abstained and the ten non-permanent members of the Council voted against it.

The proposed resolution called for “the creation of a committee composed of all UN Security Council members to investigate allegations against the United States and Ukraine” in relation to their compliance with the agreement to forbid the development, manufacture, and retention of biological weapons.
Dmitry Polianski, the deputy Russian ambassador, voiced his sadness with the vote’s decision, saying that “Western nations have demonstrated in every way that the law is not applied to them.

He added: “This is a usual colonial mentality that we are used to and did not surprise,” pledging to raise this issue at the conference to review the biological weapons agreement that will be held from November 28 to December 16 in Geneva.
“The United States voted against this decision because it is based on misleading information, deception, bad faith and complete lack of respect” the Security Council.

She continued by saying that “no one is believed by China” and that this decision is a “milestone for the deception of Russia and its lies.”
The United States and Ukraine last week categorically rejected the Russian accusations that the Americans described as “pure slanders.

Adeji Ebo, a deputy suburban actress in charge of disarmament matters, stated, “The latter is not aware of the existence of a biological weapons programme,” adding that the international agency lacks the authority or “technical capabilities” to look into the claim.

Russia was not invited by the UN to look into a biological weapons programme in Ukraine.
