Washington welcomes Moscow’s return to the grain export agreement and calls for its extension

The United States applauded Russia’s restoration to the deal allowing the secure transit of Ukrainian medicines over the Black Sea and asked Moscow to prolong it later this month.
US State Department spokesman, Ned Price, praised the United Nations and Turkey, but said that it is important not only “the deal not only returns to its previous era, but also extended later this month.

In a statement to reporters, he continued, “This will eventually lead to more predictability and stability in this market, and most significantly, pressure to cut pricing.
After announcing a return to work with the Ukrainian grain export agreement, Russian President Vladimir Putin threatened to exit Russia again from the agreement if Kyiv intends to “violate guarantees” requested by Moscow.

“I asked the Ministry of Defense to resume its participation in the grain export agreement, but Russia reserves its right to withdraw from this agreement if Ukraine violates the guarantees,” Putin said in a brief speech broadcast directly by Russian television.
After getting “linear guarantees” from Ukraine over the creation of the corridor used to move it, Russia resumed its participation in the Ukrainian grain export agreement on Wednesday.

Following an assault with marches on its ship stationed in the Crimean Gulf of Sebastopol, Moscow had stopped its participation in the grain arrangement. With the assistance of “British experts,” the Russian army claimed that Ukraine was responsible for this process and certified that it was carried out from the sea corridor for Ukrainian goods.

Moscow rejoining the grain export pact is welcomed by Washington, which begs for its renewal.
