Russia calls on the five nuclear states to stop waving the use of weapons of mass destruction

The five nuclear-armed powers were urged by the Russian Foreign Ministry to quit making provocative gestures and using weapons of mass destruction today, Wednesday.

According to a statement from the Russian Foreign Ministry, which was cited by the Russian news agency “Sputnik,” other nuclear-armed states had asked Russia to demonstrate “a practical preparation for this priority, to give up serious attempts to violate each other’s vital interests, to avoid any direct armed conflict, and to stop provocations with weapons of mass destruction, which would have serious repercussions.


Russia supports adherence to the agreements and understandings in the area of decreasing nuclear weapons and strategic dangers, as well as the risk of global accidents and conflicts that could escalate to the nuclear level, the statement continued.
