Hospital donations to be matched through holidays in Prince Edward County

Thanks to a commitment from the Hospital Foundation Auxiliary, the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation in Southern Ontario is already in the holiday spirit.
All donations made throughout the holiday season will be matched by the Auxiliary up to a maximum of $150,000.
“We are overjoyed and deeply appreciative of the kindness that has just shown itself. Health care advancements at our hospital depend on community support, said to Barbara McConnell, chair of the PECMH Foundation.

Living in this community has advantages such as easy access to a functional hospital.
The Auxiliary’s matching gift will significantly benefit the hundreds of patients who depend on our hospital each year for top-notch medical treatment and X-ray services. We appreciate the community’s and the Auxiliary’s unwavering support, which we are grateful for.
According to the hospital, the project will aid in funding a new X-ray machine, for which the foundation is raising $595,000.

The diagnostic imaging tool will be employed at the present hospital and transferred to the future hospital for Prince Edward County in 2027.
The present X-ray machine is showing indications of ageing and has to be replaced after more than 14 years and more than 120,000 images, according to Shannon Coull, executive director of the PECMH Foundation.
“Digital imaging technology has advanced significantly in recent years, and we want to ensure that our hospital stays abreast of this development.”

Through the holidays, hospital donations in Prince Edward County will be matched.
