Xavi reveals his goal after Barcelona moved to the European League

As his team defeated Victoria Plzen of the Czech Republic 4-2 on Tuesday in the final group stage match of the Champions League, Barcelona coach Xavi showed his joy.
With this victory, Barcelona improved its standing in the third group to 7 points, but he also announced his departure from the Champions League competition. Barcelona was happy with third place behind Bayern Munich and Inter, and he moved on to compete in the European League, the second-most important club competition in Europe.

In remarks quoted by the Spanish newspaper “Marca” after the Victoria Plzen game, Xavi said: “In the first half we were good, but we suffered as we made unnecessary mistakes, and the opponent made more chances than usual, and we knew that he was a difficult competitor. And I loved what the team presented offensively, but I did not like the defensive performance.

“Our balance in the Champions League is negative,” he continued, “since we have to seize our opportunities, just like Bayern Munich and Inter did to advance.”
Regarding his team’s move to the European League, Xavi said: “Barcelona is one of the candidates to win the European League, and our goal is to play in the final and win the title, and we must play well, and we will compete strongly, as it is a challenge for the club and the team. ”
