Canada announces its need for half a million immigrants annually until 2025

News from Al-Madinah: Sean Fraser, Canada’s Minister of Immigration, declared that the government would increase its immigration targets and expressed his intention to welcome record numbers of newcomers to help the nation’s labour shortfall.
“Canada needs more people,” Frizer said during a press conference on Tuesday.

According to newly revealed demographic data, one in seven Canadians between the ages of 55 and 64 is approaching retirement age, which affects a sizeable portion of the country’s population. A million job openings were reported in March, putting Canadian businesses in the midst of the worst employment crisis in history. Ferzer continued, “The Canadians are aware of the need to maintain population growth if we are to achieve our labour requirements.

More than 405,000 immigrants arrived in Canada last year, the most ever in a single year. Fraser stated that the administration anticipates receiving 431 thousand immigrants this year.
The Canadian government revised its objectives for the following year by increasing the anticipated increase in immigrants to 465 thousand, 485 thousand in 2024, and 500 thousand in 2025.
Between 2016 and 2021, 1.3 million new immigrants were established in Canada.

According to Frizer, the objective is to have more than 60% of all immigrants accepted for economic reasons by 2025. Although it accepts fewer refugees, Canada also wants to reunite families more quickly.
In 2021, the population of Canada increased to 39 million, and one in every four of those people was an immigrant.
