As part of the club’s strategy to succeed this season, especially after the squad said goodbye to the Champions League tournaments for the second consecutive season and joined the European League, Barcelona is looking to sign Chelsea midfielder Georginho during the forthcoming winter transfers.
According to the Spanish tabloid Sport, Barcelona will negotiate with the Blues Administration to hire the Italian, whose contract with the squad expires after six months and who is free to sign with any team without going back to his present club’s management.
According to the newspaper, Georginho’s agent spent the last several hours in Catalonia negotiating with Matteo Alemanani, the Catalan club’s sports director, to sign the Italian in January.
The discussions, the publication concluded, showed that Georginho would sign with Barcelona in January and begin his professional career at the start of the 2023–2024 season.
