The Sudanese exempt officials and stresses the fight against corruption

GAHADDAD – The new Iraqi government decided on Tuesday to exempt a number of officials in government agencies appointed during the era of the previous government, including the head of the intelligence service, while Prime Minister Muhammad al -Sudani confirmed at the same time that the priority of his mandate is “fighting corruption.

” On Thursday, the government of Muhammad Al -Sudani obtained confidence in the House of Representatives, a year after a political conflict between the two main Shiite political parties, the coordination framework on the one hand, and the Sadrist movement led by the Shiite cleric Muqtada al -Sadr, sometimes reached violence.
The coordinating framework, a grouping of Iranian-aligned Shiite parties that now has the majority in Parliament, is in favour of the Sudanese government.

The cancellation of various appointments to major government positions that his predecessor Mustafa Al-Kazemi had granted since the parliamentary elections in October 2021 was one of the first actions taken by the Sudanese government on Tuesday.

The Sudanese said in a press conference on Tuesday, followed by the cabinet session that the decision relates to the abolition of the appointments of “heads of agencies, agencies, agents, general managers and consultants” who did not specify their identity.
A government source claims that the chief of the intelligence service, Raed Jawhi, who was only appointed two weeks ago, was among the individuals fired.

The Sudanese explained that the Federal Court’s ruling from 2022, which stated that “the caretaker administration, the former government, does not have the jurisdiction to issue orders to nominate and offer approvals and agreements,” served as the foundation for this judgement.

“We do not have a problem with people as long as their legal status is adjusted in accordance with the constitution, law, and the decision of the Federal Court,” Al-Sudani said, emphasising that this decision “is not within the policy of targeting or exclusion of certain parties or political accounts.

Al -Sudani also stressed during the press conference that one of his government’s priorities is to fight corruption, which he described as “a serious threat to the Iraqi state, more dangerous than all the threats that have passed on Iraq throughout the past period. ”
“The citizen wants to touch that there is accountability and at the same time a recovery of the looted money,” he added.

The Sudanese noted that the subject does not only depend on “a decision by the government, but from Parliament till it is acceptable” with regard to the early elections that were specified in the new administration’s platform to strive to “arrange it within a year.” Early elections are also viewed by the coordinating framework and the chest current as a solution to the political crisis in Iraq.

Officials in Sudan are excluded, and they emphasise fighting corruption.
