A terrorist cell connected to the Houthi militia that carried out terrorist operations in October was apprehended by the security forces on Tuesday in the Shabwa Governorate, in the southeast of Yemen.
According to the official Yemeni News Agency, a security source claimed that the Houthi cell was also getting ready to conduct terrorist operations against senior leaders in the Shabwa Governorate, including the governor Awad Al-Wazir, leaders of the Arab coalition, Shabwa Defense Forces, Giants Brigades, and military and security leaders.
The source also noted that during last October, the Houthi cell planted two initial explosive devices targeting a task-brigade in the Giants Brigade forces in the city of Ataq. The explosion caused the kit’s driver and street vendors to sustain injuries, in addition to materially damaging the citizens’ cars.
