The start of the 31st Arab Summit in Algeria

Qais Saeed, the president of Tunisia, stated his hope at the start of the summit that the one conducted in Algeria would be a summit of solutions and heal the breach.
“We live in several regions of a fierce war to confront parties aimed at bringing down countries and we must confront them,” Saeed said, adding that the difficult conditions in the Arab world have exacerbated in recent years for several reasons.

He continued, saying, “We strive to address divisions between the Arab countries,” and he expressed hope that the Arab summit in Algeria will help to do so.
It was originally slated to take place in March 2020, however it was delayed because of the Corona Shura, and the most recent regular Arab summit—the thirty-first periodic Arab summit—was held in Tunisia in 2019.

The present summit takes place against the backdrop of complex problems and situations in the Arab world as well as a chaotic international environment as a result of the conflict in Ukraine and its consequences, including an energy and food crisis.

The 31st Arab Summit in Algeria officially begins.
