Vancouver Santa Claus Parade cancelled for the third straight year

For the third consecutive year, the Santa Claus Parade in Vancouver has been formally cancelled.
The event needs a title sponsor to help with the costs of putting on the parade each year, but no sponsor was able to commit for 2022, according to a statement on the organisers’ website on Tuesday.
Telus and Rogers previously provided support for the procession.
The event should return the following year, according to the organisers.
The parade was first cancelled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The event’s organisers are still urging people to donate to charitable organisations like the Greater Vancouver Food Bank and the CKNW Kids’ Fund during this holiday season.
Over 300,000 spectators watched the parade in 2019 as it travelled 1. 8 kilometres through downtown Vancouver.
Global News has reached out to CKNW Kids’ Fund and the food bank for comment..

For the third year running, the Vancouver Santa Claus Parade has been cancelled.
