Sheikh Sultan Al Qasimi launches 19 new volumes from the “Historical Dictionary of Arabic”

Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, launched at the headquarters of the “Arabic Language Complex in Sharjah”, this morning, Tuesday, 19 new volumes from the “Historical Dictionary of the Arabic Language”, in the presence of members of the Board of Trustees and members of the complex from the heads of federations and 14 councils a linguistic union of twelve nations.

The 19 new volumes of the historical lexicon of the Arabic language cover the letters H, Al-Kha, Al-Dal, and Al-Dhal, bringing the total number of altered letters to 9 from hamza to Al-Dhal. As a result, the project’s 36 volumes have been finished, bringing the total number of folders to 36.

His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah’s efforts to promote the Arabic language were furthered by the publication of these works by Al-Qasimi publications in Sharjah, their issuance, binding, direction, and printing, a feat that has never before been accomplished in history.

His Highness spoke about the value of linguistic councils in preserving the Arabic language and its leadership For ideas that make Arabic in its proper place a global language, and welcomed the presence of members of the complex from various countries. He praised the great efforts they made in working on the historical dictionary, which is considered one of the valuable achievements that must be worked on and built on to publish, learn, and teach the Arabic language.

The Sharjah ruler stressed the significance of setting up special centres owned by the complex in which it is, as this is a kind of tide to keep this language in the Arab reality, Part of the responsibility it performs in particular, and announced a waqf devoted to supporting these councils on the full performance of its mission, provided that the endowment is in the Emirate of Sharjah.

We have here in Sharjah the establishment of the Qasimiya University, and this is a special university for me. It graduates many students from Japan To the Americas. The ruler of Sharjah dealt with the great efforts in supporting the learning of the Arabic language in Sharjah, dealing with the vision and idea of establishing the Qasimiya University, which was the culmination of his efforts in supporting the Arabic language and Islam.
