Russian Foreign Ministry: We are committed to the Ukraine grain export agreement

According to a recent urgent news broadcast by Al-Arabiya Sky News, the Russian Foreign Ministry stated that it is committed to the deal on grain exports from Ukraine.

Earlier, the UN’s official spokesman, Stephane Dujarric, confirmed that the Secretary-General of the United Nations announced on August 3rd his decision to launch a fact-finding mission into the incident at the Olinivka prison in Ukraine on July 29th, at the request of the Ukrainian and Russian governments. After completing its mandate, the mission will attempt to verify the facts of the occurrence and submit a report to the Secretary-General.

According to the United Nations Information Center, Antonio Guterres announced earlier this week that he would appoint Lieutenant-General Carlos dos Santos (of Brazil) to lead the mission, and that the mission’s competencies would be shared with Ukraine and the Russian Federation, as well as the team’s formation.

Guterres stated that we will continue to work to obtain the necessary assurances to ensure safe access to Olinivka and any other related sites, and Dujarric reminded Guterres that the fact-finding mission should be free to find the facts, and the team should be able to collect and analyse the necessary information…
