Lebanon enters the “vacuum” .. and my international warning of a security deterioration!

With Lebanon entering the presidential vacuum, after the end of the 6 -year presidential state of Michel Aoun, the United Nations Special Coordinator in Lebanon, Yuan Furska, expressed its concern about the possibility of the extension of the void and the deterioration of the security situation, especially since the country is still suffering from the impact of the social crisis and the long-term financial and economic outlook.
In statements to “Al Arabiya.

net “She emphasised that “creating a government and soon electing a new president are necessary to confront these awful difficulties.
It also considered that “the agreement to demarcate the maritime borders concluded between Lebanon and Israel showed how historical achievements could be achieved when the leaders of Lebanon unite to achieve a common goal, so it expressed its hope that they would find courage, design and good intention to elect a new president successfully.

“The need for “immediate actions by all concerned to put the interest of the country and its population before political and personal agendas, bypassing divides, and finding a solution that can help save Lebanon” was also emphasised by the speaker.
“The Lebanese people anticipate that their leaders will respond to the issues the nation is facing with a greater sense of urgency and responsibility. This is necessary to rebuild people’s confidence and hope for a better future for their country.

The UN coordinator stated that “invitations to conversation can lead to effective results” in response to the Speaker of Parliament’s invitation to a dialogue session to elect a president.
She added that “conversation is also vital to avoid division, miscommunication, and escalating tensions.” All efforts should be made to prevent further time wastage, she urged.

In addition, she considered that “sustainable solutions can only come from within Lebanon,” stressing that the United Nations is permanently ready to provide support, but it cannot replace the state or to solve itself the sovereign privileges concerning the Lebanese state. ”
She also stated that she was more afraid of the situation getting worse than it already was “The Lebanese’s fundamental services are getting worse every day, which worsens security to a greater extent.

“To change this trend and move forward with implementing the changes that can put Lebanon on the path of recovery, the political will and decision-making process are now required,” she said.
It is noteworthy that Lebanon had its third presidential vacuum since the Taif Agreement as of midnight on Monday due to the political class’ failure to fulfil this obligation within the legal time frame.

But this hole arises this time as a result of an economic crisis that the World Bank has ranked as one of the three worst crises in history, as the lira fell against the dollar and social, educational, and health conditions all began to deteriorate.

Lebanon enters the “vacuum”.. and I’m alerting the world that things are becoming worse for security!
